When will the Chairman be available?

The first Chairman was delivered in January 2012. The Chairman will become available in selected outlets throughout the first half of 2012.

What platform does the Chairman use?

Google Android™ Mobile Phone Platform running on a Freescale i.MX processor.

Which version of Google Android™ does it run?

Version 2.2.

What software is pre-installed in the Chairman?

All phones are pre-loaded with standard Google applications, including Market, Gmail, Maps, Navigation etc. Additionally some of our own applications include back up to USB and bespoke user configuration options.

Will owners be able to use the Google Android™ app store?

Yes, the App store is available to all Chairman phone users, however we cannot accept liability for additional applications purchased. We are planning to develop an approved list of applications for use on the Chairman.

What ‘bands’ is the Chairman compatible with?

Qualcomm 3G GSM/WCDMA – 2G Bands 850/900/1800/1900MHZ – 3G Bands 900/2100MHZ.

How large is the screen and what format is the keyboard?

The Chairman comes with a 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen with full on-screen QWERTY keyboard and physical numeric keys.

How much memory does the Chairman have?

The Chairman Has 32 GB of internal memory.

Does the Chairman have an integrated camera?

Yes, the Chairman has an 8 megapixel camera with video recording capability and an LED flash.

Does the Chairman support video?

Yes, the Chairman supports high definition video replay.

How can I protect the information on my Chairman?

The phones have owner identification fingerprint readers and additional phone lock features to help protect valuable information.

How long is the battery life on the Chairman?

The Chairman supports up to 7 hours talk time and 30 hours standby time.

What unique features does the Chairman have?

A signature Ulysse Nardin rotor and crown is a unique feature of the Chairman phone. Every Chairman comes with a beautifully crafted lacquered wood docking cabinet featuring integrated premium speakers, data backup to USB and battery charging.

Are the rotor and crown just aesthetic additions?

No, as well as looking visually striking, they also perform a useful function of supplying supplementary power to the reserve battery.

Do you need a battery for your phone?

The Chairman still needs to be charged like a traditional phone, however it is equipped with 2 batteries, the secondary battery collects kinetic energy coming from the rotor. This employs a ‘power reserve’ which considerably extends battery life.

Why did you partner with Ulysse Nardin?

UN Cells founders Bobby Yampolsky and Morten Nielsen approached only one company as a partner in their quest to create the world’s first hybrid luxury smartphone – Ulysse Nardin. They chose Ulysse Nardin based on its heritage of excellence, its history in mechanical innovation and the vision of its late CEO, Rolf Schnyder.

What features of the Chairman are unique to Ulysse Nardin?

Ulysse Nardin timepieces have a unique and striking design, and many of these iconic design elements have been incorporated into the design of the Chairman. These include the distinctive Ulysse Nardin rotor, crown and side keys, the scratch proof sapphire screen, and the signature Ulysse Nardin colours and precious metals used on selected models.

Where is the Chairman assembled?

The Chairman is assembled in a custom built bespoke facility by expert craftspeople located in Hungary.

Are you planning to launch any more products for Ulysse Nardin?

Yes, we are planning to launch other products in due course. Currently our focus is on the successful launch of the Chairman.

Can I connect my Chairman to my PC or Mac?

You can connect directly to your PC or Mac. Your computer will see the Chairman as an external USB device and allow you to copy data to and from your phone.

How do I get my contacts from my existing phone to a Chairman?

The easiest way is to synch your contacts to a Gmail or Outlook Exchange account. This will also allow you to synchronise your emails and calendar.

Do you have any unique ring tones?

We have recorded high end Ulysse Nardin mechanical chiming watches and re-composed them using the notes 1846 for example, as 1846 is the birthday of Ulysse Nardin.
